I'm in America by myself

Sorry guys, but I receive an email where a girl said that I am in New York with a special project...

Who said that? I never tell to anybody why I am here and because, not because I don't want to say it, but only because nobady ask me about it.
I am here by myself, because I had a personal opportunity to spend 18 months here for personal motivation. It is not concer any project, or any work... I am here, I am studying English...
It's a problem if I didn't follow a program?
